Juan’s second release on Shelving weighs in with an impressive selection of 4 remixes of his deeply affecting and life affirming ‘Stronger’. The original’s warm, ethereal mood perfectly matches its poignant message, and each of the interpretations tastefully complements the vibe without losing site of the tracks significance. Not to be over shadowed is the haunting ‘Away’ with its shimmering soundscape, and the understated ‘Brighter’ which completes the selection with detuned synths played over lazily swinging rhythms.

In the instrumental I'll meet you at Berns Juno and Beasley use subtle tech funk rhythms to create a groove interwoven with a lone piano, creating an delicate vibe with only the barest of elements. Juan Lombardo’s remix maintains the mood of the original, while generating more momentum through bigger breakdowns and greater emphasis on the bass and muted techy stabs.
